Berne Guerrero joined Creative Commons Philippines as a team member in 2006, incidental to his function as the president of the IT Law Society, which was the student arm of the e-Law Center of the Arellano University School of Law. He joined the e-Law Center, which is the lead public institution for Creative Commons Philippines, in April 2007 after he passed the Philippine Bar. He became the Deputy Project Lead soon after and was tasked with the porting of the Creative Commons licenses to conform with Philippine law and legal terminologies.
At present, Berne Guerrero is the Acting Executive Director of the e-Law Center of the Arellano University School of Law, inasmuch as Atty. Jimmy Soriano is on medical leave since May 2011. He assumes temporarily Atty. Soriano’s functions as Project Lead for Creative Commons Philippines until Atty. Soriano gets well.
